WICC is a cashew processing company, which imports raw cashew nuts from African countries and supplies processed cashews and cashew food-ingredients to snack-food companies in America, the U.K., Europe, Australia, Japan and India.
WICC also supplies imported Raw cashews to other cashew processors in India. The company works in many factories in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Its packing facility is ISO 9002 and HACCP certified. Since 1992, WICC’s turnover has increased from 1.8 crores to 70 Crores. In this period, the company modernized its factories and became a preferred supplier to the leading snack food companies in many First World countries. WICC also pioneered a new generation packaging system for cashews, which has become the industry standard and won the National Award for Excellence in Packaging Design from the Ministry of Commerce and the Indian Institute of Packaging in 2000. The company is now focused on further value-addition in cashews and in processing other edible nuts to high standards for its international customers.
Hari Nair has been a member of the Kerala State Council of the CII since 1996 and has served on Regional and National Committees for Agri-Business and Membership. He is Chairman of the sub-committee for packaging of the Cashew Export Promotion Council of India. He has been a speaker at the Annual Conventions of the International Tree-Nut Council (INC, Spain) and the Peanut and Tree-nut Processors Association (PTNPA, USA). Hari Nair is an MBA (PGDM) from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (1991) and a B.Com Gold Medallist from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Bangalore (1988). He is an active member of Quilon Round Table. He was awarded Certificate of Merit for “Best Table Secretary” in Round Table India in 1997. Under his Chairmanship in 2001, Quilon was awarded the National “Balanced Activities” Trophy. He plays badminton, table tennis and basketball.
