Chairman& MD, Kerala Financial Corporation
Mr P Joy Oommen IAS (Retd) currently the Chairman and Managing Director of Kerala Financial Corporation also spearheads the highly lauded Kerala State Entrepreneur Development Mission. A post graduate in Economics from University of Kerala, Mr Oommen also holds a Masters Degree in Development Economics from University of East Anglia, UK. He has attended short term courses in Public Finance at Harvard University, USA and in Sericulture Management at Tsukuba University of Technology, Japan.
Mr Oommen had earlier served as Chief Secretary to Government of Chhattisgarh and as Chairman of Naya Raipur Development Authority which planned and developed Naya Raipur the new capital of Chhattisgarh. He also served as Chairman of Chhattisgarh Electricity Board, Chairman Pollution Control Board, Chhattisgarh and as the CEO of Central Silk Board, Bangalore. His other assignments include a five year stint with Government of India as Joint Chief Controller of Imports and Exports, Chennai, Finance Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh,Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Industrial Area Development Corporation, and as Collector of Dewas district,Madhya Pradesh.
Ex officio positions held by him include Vice Chairman of International Silk Association, Governing body member of IIM, Raipur, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Bio Fuel Development Authority and as President of the Council of State Industrial Development and Investment Corporations of India (COSIDICI).
