Ranjini Menon began her creative journey as a poet and columnist in noted women’s magazines and periodicals including reputed broadsheets during her early years. A creative mind and a voracious reader, she became the recipient of several awards and accolades. Her foray into Television happened with Akathalam – the first ever Women’s talk show on Asianet that dealt with women’s issues with great élan and aplomb. The show also initiated several social discussions and in the process led to several social schemes being announced by the Government, and created a platform to deal with issues related to women and provided women, with the much needed voice and show became a social movement over a period of 5 years and 500 episodes.
Apart from several media related experiences, she has spent two years serving as the CEO of JTPac – Jose Thomas Performance Art Center, Kochi and designed shows involving several music and movie celebrities.
Ranjini was a Jury member for South Indian Filmfare awards. She is also currently the Executive Member of the Kerala State Children’s film Society and National Vice President of Indo Russian Culture Relations. She was a past president of Rotary club of Tripunithura and served as the district official of Rotary District 3200. She was also awarded outstanding Rotarian by the Rotary dist. She was the outstanding new Jaycee in the year 2002 by Junior Chamber international.
Understanding the present world scenario of shortage in food production, depletion of natural resources particularly vegetation and tree cover she ventured into organic farming, sustainable agricultural practices & responsible tourism. She runs an organic coffee plantation retreat called Wayanad Coffee County which was adjudged as the Second best home stay in India by the prestigious Outlook Traveller Magazine in the year 2014. She is a special invitee of district administration and various other governmental and non-governmental organizations of Wayanad for sharing her expertise in the fields of Tourism, Sustainable farming & responsible tourism initiative. She is a part of a movement called Greenvein which is instrumental in planting One billion trees across India.
